Cabinet IR Studio
Cab Reactor
Driftwood
74 impulse responses meticulously captured by mixing engineer Lasse Lammert from his personal Driftwood 4x12 - four speakers, a dozen studio microphones. Blend up to eight IRs on an XY pad, tame harshness with dynamic resonance suppression, tighten the low end, and drive the speaker into breakup. A complete cab studio, not just a loader.
Captured by Lasse Lammert
Not a sample pack. An engineer's life's work.
Cab Reactor - Driftwood didn't come from a generic IR library. It came from the studio of Lasse Lammert, an internationally respected mixing and mastering engineer who has spent decades chasing the perfect guitar tone for heavy music productions around the world.
Every one of the 74 impulse responses was captured by hand from his own personal Driftwood 4x12 - the very cabinet behind his records - using his microphone locker and the placement techniques he has refined over years of professional work. No shortcuts, no filler: each IR reflects a specific mic, distance, and speaker chosen by an engineer who knows exactly what a mix needs.
The Cabinet
The legendary Driftwood 4x12
Driftwood Amps is a boutique builder of high-gain amplifiers and cabinets, revered across modern metal and heavy music for a voicing that is aggressive, tight, and articulate all at once. Their gear has earned a devoted following among guitarists and producers chasing a genuinely brutal, yet defined guitar tone.
The 4x12 at the heart of this plugin is the same cabinet that sound is built on. Capturing it in this much detail means you get the real Driftwood character in your DAW: the punch, the low-end authority, and the cutting midrange, ready to drop straight into a mix.

Captured from one of the most sought-after custom cabinets in heavy music production - then wrapped in the tone-shaping tools you'd normally reach for a full mixing chain to get.
74 Impulse Responses
Four speakers. A dozen mics. Every position captured.
The Driftwood 4x12 was captured across four distinct speakers - Celestion Vintage 30 (UK), Celestion G12V-60, Celestion G12H-75 Creamback, and the Eminence Karnivore - using a full locker of professional microphones: SM57, Royer R-121, Sennheiser MD421, Beyerdynamic M160 and M201, Neumann KM184 and U47 FET, Austrian Audio OC18, Heil PR30, and more. From tight and aggressive to warm and open, every mic, distance, and blend position is one click away.
8-Slot IR Blender
Morph between mics. On an XY pad.
Load up to eight IRs into the blender and drag a single point to morph between them in real time - the classic "SM57 + R-121" trick, taken to eight sources. Each slot has its own mute, solo, and lock, plus per-slot phase-aligned delay and speaker-resonance tuning so multi-mic combinations stay perfectly in phase. Drop your own IRs into any slot alongside the factory captures. Hit Randomize to instantly fill every unlocked slot with a fresh mix of captures - lock in the ones you love, reroll the rest, and stumble onto blends you'd never have dialed in by hand.
Smooth - Dynamic Resonance Suppression
Kill harshness. Only when it happens.
Smooth is a spectral, phase-vocoder resonance suppressor built into the plugin - the kind of dynamic de-harsher you'd normally patch in after the cab. It hunts down fizzy, resonant peaks and pulls them down only when they spike, leaving the body of the tone untouched. Dial in Precision and Selectivity, choose Static or one of three Dynamic modes, and set attack and release. A Delta button lets you audition exactly what's being removed.
Tightness - Dynamic Low End
Chugs that stay tight. Palm mutes that punch.
Tightness is a dynamic low-end controller with adjustable low and high crossovers plus its own attack and release, a C4-style multiband engine tuned for guitar. It reins in flub and low-end bloom the moment a chug hits, so the bottom stays fast and defined without thinning out the tone. Defaults track a modern metal production reference right out of the box.
Best of all, you shape it right on the spectrum. Grab the crossover handles and drag them across the display to dial in exactly which frequencies get tightened - then pull the low handle all the way down and the band reshapes into a low shelf, clamping everything beneath the high crossover. A focused band for surgical control, a shelf for broad low-end grip - all by dragging, no menus.
A Complete Cab Studio
Everything you need to make any capture mix-ready, without leaving the plugin.
Tracking Mode
One click for true zero-latency monitoring while tracking. It temporarily bypasses the two latency-adding processors - Tightness and dynamic Smooth, so you can play and record in perfect time. Your settings are remembered and snap right back when you switch it off.
Speaker Drive
Push the cabinet into cone breakup for grit and compression, with automatic makeup gain to keep levels matched.
Room Mics
Blend in mono (FET47) and stereo (dual Aston) room captures with independent pre-delay to add depth, size, and stereo width.
Impedance Interaction
One-click Driftwood amp-to-speaker impedance simulation restores the feel and dynamics standard IR loaders miss.
HP / LP Filters
High-pass (20–500 Hz) and low-pass (1–20 kHz) to tighten the lows and tame the highs without external EQ.
Live Spectrum
An always-visible real-time spectrum analyzer shows exactly how every control is shaping the sound.
Load Your Own IRs
Point the built-in browser at your IR folders and drop any WAV into the blender alongside the factory Driftwood captures.
Preset Manager
Save, recall, and organize your own presets, factory and user banks kept side by side for instant recall.
Pan & Output
Full stereo panning, phase invert for multi-mic alignment, and output gain from −24 to +12 dB for level control.
Resizable UI
Hardware-inspired interface with neon purple accents that scales smoothly to any screen size.
Runs On Its Own
A full standalone app
Cab Reactor - Driftwood runs as a standalone application - no DAW required. Plug in your interface, load a cab, and play or monitor with true zero latency no matter what buffer size a session would normally run at. Perfect for grabbing a guitar and noodling through IRs, auditioning cabs on the fly, or tracking straight through an amp, load box, and IR.
Included Impulse Responses
74 cabinet IRs across four speakers, plus mono and stereo room captures.
